The exhibition probes the industry in relation to the precedents of performance art. The exhibition examines the inability, within critical discourse, to comfortably segregate art and fashion in the late 1990’s-2003 and is organized in five distinct sections: structure, substance, statement, spectacle and science. The exhibition includes work from Alexander McQueen, Hussein Chalayan, Viktor & Rolf, Issey Miyake, Junya Watanabe, Rei Kawakubo, Martin Margiela, Miguel Adrover, and Red or Dead.

The exhibition is conceived of as mannequin-less and uses alternative means to represent the body – video projections and displays, sequenced photographic transparencies, and slide projections document the garments as worn on the living body. The exhibition utilizes digital concept animations, blue-screen image replacement, custom light tables, moving tri-panel images, turntables and fabric touch/feel zones to reflect a sense of the performative verve and art influences surfacing in the industry.
